South African online gamblers are starting to see a crossover between online sports books and online casinos – something that has been quite common in other territories before now. Let’s get the elephant in the room out of the way right up front: PariPesa, like most other sports books, is incredibly busy. Like, overwhelmingly packed with numbers and data busy. The OCR team is very much focused on the online casino biz so, when we first hit the PariPesa home page, we were shocked and horrified with how confusing and terribly laid out it was.

Until we discovered that this is the norm for online sports books and that online sports bettors know exactly what to look for and how to find it. A little bit of relief from our side but, if you are new to the sports book world, maybe try somewhere a little smaller than this international giant.

Having said that…

PariPesa is laid out in the same way as most online sports books. If we break the page into a grid we see a top bar, a main bar, a banner area, left and right pillars, and the main page area.

The top bar is quite basic with a mobile app link, a deposit/banking button, and a bonus notice to the left with Log In, Registration, settings, time, and language on the right.

The main bar (below the top bar) has all the links to the various gambling lobbies: Sports, Live, Promo, Slots, Live Casino, Games, Virtual Sports, TV Games, Bingo, Poker, and More.

Below this is the animated banner that shows the latest promos and events offered by PariPesa.

The left-hand pillar has Live sports, Top matches, and the list of all the sports and betting options available to players (and there are hundreds, nay, thousands!).

The right-hand pillar has Bets slips, My Bets, social media links, and selected sports on offer. At the bottom of this pillar, and visible throughout your scrolling, is the Live Chat for questions.

The main focus of the page is the markets and odds for the current Live sporting action on the go.

The foot of the home page has all the links to About, legals, the lobbies, Responsible Gambling, and the rest.

Each lobby on the main bar also opens a page with its own layout. Thankfully, the casino side of things was far more familiar to us and definitely more standard in terms of layout.

At the end of the day, PariPesa does a decent job of organising what is a literal dump ton of data and offers and games into something that is quite easily navigated with a little practice. The blue on white colour scheme helps to make everything a little easier to see and manage (we shudder to think what a darker tone would lead to).

Sports book

PariPesa has one of the largest online sports books we’ve seen. They claim over a thousand events daily and we are pretty sure they cover all of them. Odds are decent and markets are extensive so sports bettors will have a whale of a time going through everything on offer. South African gamblers will be familiar with rugby, soccer, golf, motorsports, cricket, and basketball but there are some quite interesting and unusual choices as well: Basque pelota, Kabaddi, Kun Khmer, Lacrosse, and more. Ahh, more familiar territory for us. And my how relieved and excited we are!
