The OCR review
Gameplay
7’s Deluxe is an old-school 3-reel fruit machine online slots game with 5 paylines (top line, middle line, bottom line, top left to bottom right diagonal and bottom left to top right diagonal). Gameplay is simple, as can be expected from this retro game style. You can choose to bet in increments from 0.25 to 125.00 – the higher amount definitely aimed toward the high rollers.
Choose your bet, spin the reels and see what sticks.
Yes, it’s that simple. There are no bonus features, no mini games, nothing but the spin of the reels and a win or lose.
Gameplay is smooth and fast and you can choose to auto play based on a set number of spins or win/loss amount.
Symbols
As with fruit machine games you have your usual cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, bars, watermelons, bells and stars.
You also have the 7’s symbols and the wilds which are flaming 7’s symbols.
Graphics
The graphics are crisp and clear and, possibly because we are used to more symbols on more reels, quite large.
Sound
Very basic audio, no effects, just a tune and the sound of the reels stopping.
Bonuses and extras
Wilds are the only bonuses on offer from 7’s Deluxe but they have a weird exclusion: flaming 7’s can only substitute for any other 7’s symbol. If you do happen to hit the wilds combo though, the payout is 250x your bet so quite lucrative.
Pros and cons
Pros
Simple
Good graphics
Good mobile version available
Cons
Meh
The OCR verdict
There is a big resurgence in interest for the old-school fruit machine-style online slots games. Sure, there are times when we want simple just to waste away a half hour or so, to just zone out and watch the reels spin but…
What all these back-to-basics, retro fruit machines do for this OCR reviewer is remind me how far the industry has come with combining technology and design and gameplay.
Still, for those who do enjoy the old-school, this is probably one of the better ones to try out.
